Manuelita Brown
2019 Accelerator Fellow
Manuelita Brown creates figurative sculptures that transform our view of “the other” from suspicion and fear, to connection and empathy.
Become better known in circles with disposable income and community influence. Create a sculpture garden/park that will feature her work, as well as work by other artists who address similar themes.
Through activities in the CHF curriculum, Manuelita clarified her objectives for making art. By focusing my outreach, she placed one sculpture in a public sculpture garden and sold and installed another in a celebrity’s private garden.
Manuelita plans to continue to build a national reputation; develop a plan for a small sculpture garden focusing on women in society; finish the installation of a WWI monument; and locate the “A Place for Grace” park, complete with a Board of Directors.
