April Wagner and her team of six employees create hand-blown glass art under two distinct brands, and her pieces are held in private and public collections around the world. Epiphany, the 4,000-square-foot studio that she established and manages, is one of the largest private hot-glass facilities in the Midwest. April is also enrolled in Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program.
“I think we all start out believing the myths we are told, but the idea of ‘the starving artist as purist’ is crap. There is no shame in wanting to be recognized and compensated for the work we do. Money is the exchange of value, and I want my work to be valued so I can be a force for good in my community and in my family … I need help structuring my time and correctly planning the steps I need to take to make my goals a reality.”
