For more than 25 years, Ed Payton has provided management and operations expertise to various types of organizations, specializing in niche healthcare enterprises and small nonprofit groups. Taking a “nuts and bolts” approach to management, Ed believes that organizations can flourish in a changing business environment by focusing on setting priorities, and keeping all team members on the same page.
Ed’s career began in healthcare management. Along the way, he’s successfully run two small hospitals, and served as a vice president for North Carolina’s largest healthcare company. His focus on quality and financial benchmarking have led to excellent financial performance, growth, and consistently high marks on customer satisfaction. As a consultant, Ed has earned his stellar reputation in planning and crisis evaluation for small at-risk agencies and businesses.
Ed holds a B.A. in biology from the University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
