“My greatest challenge is getting consistency in sales. I have quarters where I make a lot of money, and quarters where I make very little money. I am making more money each year, but it’s difficult to plan month-to-month business and personal expenses because I don’t know what type of quarter it will be.”
“If I invented a shoe that helps people’s feet feel good, people would not knock on my factory door asking to buy them. I don’t know why an artist should think that others will intuitively know how to find them. I understand that there is an element of art that is not for sale, that the actual product is ephemeral, yet how else does one get a product to its end user? There simply must be marketing and communication.”
Willy Bo Richardson works with oil and watercolors to create abstract paintings on large canvases, and his pieces often feature fluid vertical strokes. His latest series is being created on aluminum panels that have been mounted on wood frames.
