Carolyn Edlund is the executive director of the Arts Business Institute (ABI), a nonprofit that partners with other organizations across the US to provide specialized technical assistance and business education to studio artists, craft professionals, and other creative entrepreneurs.
She is also the founder of Artsy Shark and Artsy Shark Gallery. The former is an online forum that treats artists as business owners—providing them with tips on networking, marketing, and sales, and promoting individual artists by featuring their work and words in portfolio articles—while the gallery is an e-commerce site that sells original art and reproductions of work by selected artists.
Carolyn has 20 years of experience running a production studio, and she has participated in more than 200 retail fairs and trade shows, selling her own line into more than 1,000 stores, catalogs, and online accounts.
