“I was aggressive and confident in marketing my art as soon as I created a small group of artworks. If I were to do one thing differently, though, I would try to establish a stronger network with other artists or curators by attending art talks, meetings or residencies. Sometimes, relationships might lead to different avenues that you may not come across otherwise.”
“An artist wants to create continuously without being concerned about selling. However, the truth is that art needs to be shared to elevate and delight others, and the artist needs to secure his or her future. I agree that an artist needs to be involved in the sales of artwork with or without help from others, but I understand the difficulty in balancing the creation and the sale.”
